I specialize in helping people embrace their natural texture and learn how to get salon-quality curls at home.
But I have a ...I used to hate my curls. The curly girl life wasn't as glamorous when I was a little girl. Frizz was my middle name. Highlights weren't an option (unless you wanted to fry your hair off!). And the salon industry wasn't putting out as many products that worked for the curls.
Natural texture just wasn't embraced like it is today, and younger Naya...she wished she could do something, anything, to tame her wild tresses.

That's when I vowed to love my curls & never let another little girl grow up ashamed of her hair again!
Five years ago, I made good on that vow - mastering every trick, technique, and curl-care product out there. Now I wake up everyday blessed to help women, men, and kids feel beautiful, seen, and confident in their curls.

Meet Jessica (aka Jess) - a Brooklyn-Born Nuyorican Curly Hair Specialist
Today, Jess calls Jacksonville home, and she's the newest curlfriend at For The Curls Jax! Her passion for textured hair started with her own natural hair restoration journey back in 2012, when she made the intentional decision to ditch heat tools and commit to embracing her God-given curls. What began as personal healing quickly turned into a calling to help others love their curls, too.
Jess brings over 5 years of experience working exclusively with curly and textured hair. She's a certified Curly Hair Specialist and Trichologist, trained at some of the industry’s leading curl education programs, including Rëzo Academy, Curly World, Raw Curls, Cadō Academy, and The Art of Curls Academy.
Grounded in faith, health, integrity, family, and service, she brings science, soul, and style to every appointment — creating a calm, supportive experience where you feel seen, educated, and empowered to care for your curls confidently in the salon and at home.
Surprise! Not only did we expand the salon, but in order to better serve more curls (and more schedules), we're welcoming another experienced curly hair stylist to the salon so we can serve more curlfriends while keeping every appointment curl-healthy, technique-driven, and personal.
